【出走記】: Cantaloupe's mini lesson on Art~

Here we go the last city of Cantaloupe's Trip to Europe~

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Park Guell

An interesting park filled with amazing architecture. The project was to build a Hollywood like residential area on a park. As the project started, there were no buyers to build houses, except one and only one which is still there today. Someone actually lives there too! Think about a huge backyard to play in after all the tourists leave the park?? Ain't that fun? Anyway, the absolutely amazing architecture, Gaudi was the one who created this park with candy like houses, humungous birds nests like along the walls and other things that were influenced by nature. Too bad, there wasn't enough funding to complete the project; it would have been one heck of a park.

Sagrada Familia

What the heck is this? Gaudi's masterpiece still in the works of completion. Gaudi went to school for architecture, the teacher's don't know if they graduated a genius or a loco. Sagrada Familia is a cathedral located in Barcelona, Spain with an expected height of 560 ft. Although, still not completed, the some parts of the inside already show how high this building can be expected to go. Gaudi, died with only completing about 15%-25%, however, he knew his masterpiece would not have been completed in his lifetime anyway. So this genius architecture created calculations to his masterpiece so the next architecture was able to calculate exactly how this building was supposed to be.

Can you wait for the masterpiece to be done? I sure can't!

Casa Batllo

House of Bones, another creation from Gaudi. The owner Josep Batllo wanted to create a building that was different from the other houses so he hired Gaudi for this project. Have you heard of the story of Saint George slaying the Dragon? Well, the facade of the building tells the story of Saint George slaying the Dragon, with skulls as balconies, bones as pillars, and the dragon's scales on the roof. Amazing piece of work!
